A crew member waves from the Maersk Alabama at the Mombasa port in Kenya, Sunday, April 12, 2009.
If you've been under a rock, you might not have known that on the water Somalian Pirates -yes, I said Pirates tried to take over a United States ship. The Captain of the American crew of 19 was held hostage for ransome. Negotions were being made as U.S. Warships and the U.S. Navy Seals stalked the little red boat Captain Richard Phillips and his captors were on.
Today, the situation has been handled and an anonymous Official tell msnbc.com that the U.S. Navy has rescued the Captain and gotten him to safety. The captain was not hurt and three of the Somali Pirates are now dead and one was injured. The entire U.S. crew is alive and well. This story is waaaaay too long and detailed for me to go into so read the whole ordeal as it is updated HERE.
When will these crazies learn? The UNITED STATES DOES NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS. PERIOD.
