The U.S. Has Declared A Swine Flu Emergency!

The U.S. declared the health emergency so it could ship roughly 12 million doses of flu-fighting medications from a federal stockpile to states in case they eventually need them — although, with 20 confirmed cases in five states recovering easily, they don’t appear to for now.Eight high school students from St. Francis Preparatory School in New York are among those who fell ill in five states, including New York, Ohio, California, Texas and Kansas. Patients have ranged in age from 7 to 54.
“We expect there to be a broader spectrum of disease here in the U.S.,” said Dr. Anne Schuchat, interim deputy director for the agency’s Science and Public Health Program. “I do fear that we will have deaths here.”

Does anybody watch "The Hills" on MTV? Right. Two of the shows stars, the weirdness that is Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have officially tied the knot yesterday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, CA. After all the fake drama surrounding these two in real life and on TV, I am not one to down anyone's happiness especially something as serious as marriage. I just hope this union is real and not another case of nuptuals gone wrong! They are seriously some characters, but I guess Congratulations are in order.

Beyonce's Acting Career: To Be, Or Not To Be?

Unless you've been under a rock somewhere, you know that Beyonce along with Idris Elba and Ali Larter had a movie "Obsessed" come out this weekend. It will definitely be in the top 5 movies of the weekend, but how do you feel about Beyonce' as an actress?

She is great as a singer/performer. In my opinion, she just needs to go back to the drawing board where her acting is concerned. I do think she did a good job in this film [especially the fight scenes], but I can't help but wonder how much better it would have been with a stronger more seasoned actress. What do you think? Lil' Wayne Does "The View"

I watched this interview before I went to work Friday and I must say I was extremely impressed with Weezy! He is so intelligent and well spoken. He was on a show that definitely doesn't cater to his demo, but Sheri Shepard did a great job of interviewing and saving the other ladies from not knowing what to say to him! A Golden Girl's Final Sunset: R.I.P. Bea Arthur

I don't know one girl of college age or older that does not enjoy an episode of the Golden Girls on Lifetime from time to time! As a matter of fact in college, some of my friends planned their classes by it. It was very sad to learn that Bea Arthur[Dorothy] passed away yesterday. It's been said that she was battling cancer, but there has been no official cause of death released. She was 86 years old. R.I.P.
